Kenilworth is a Day Nursery and Preschool for children aged between 3 months to 5 years old set within a historic building close to the countryside. Complete with a baby room, private garden, toddler room, preschool rooms and an outdoor classroom, the site boasts a wide range of facilities for young learners.
Some of the existing facilities had become dated and needed renovating in line with the client’s quality standards. This provided an opportunity to also increase the capacity of the nursery to accommodate the increasing demand for additional spaces.
The brief included minor structural alterations and upgrades to existing facilities to provide more modern learning spaces. Over the course of 10 weeks, our team installed new kitchenette facilities, undertook various M&E works including new emergency lighting, installation of LED lights and electrical upgrades.

A new canopy roof was installed, bathrooms were stripped-out and fitted with new IPS and cubicle systems which required plumbing upgrades/alterations. New flooring, general carpentry and redecorations were also carried out throughout the building.
Good communication was a key component to the success of this project. As this was a live building, our team worked flexibly with the staff onsite, to accommodate the needs of the nursery so that the downtime of services was kept to a minimum. Safety was a priority throughout this renovation and was carefully managed between the Harris Evolution team and the client.
A total of 6 classrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, 1 office and 1 large corridor were refurbished over two floors. The project was completed on time and within budget.
