The refurbishment of a two-story care home at HC One, Avandale Lodge, to upgrade the communal spaces for dementia care patients and elderly residents. The project brief comprised of the renovation of existing corridors, bathrooms and communal spaces throughout.
Works included the installation of new floor coverings, furniture / soft furnishings, sanitary items and various mechanical / electrical installations. The existing foyer was also extended into the reception area to improve accessibility into the building.
The programme was phased over 10 weeks with Harris Evolution taking possession of one floor at a time, with the other half of the building remaining in occupation by residents and HC One staff. A period of decanting the residents to the newly refurbished parts was allowed during a phased handover.
The project was undertaken in parallel with Acorn House care home refurbishment, mirroring the same scope of works as Avandale Lodge.
