In the summer of 2024, Harris Evolution undertook a major refurbishment at Abacus House to enhance the student living experience. Completed in just 8 weeks, the project brought significant improvements to the accommodation facilities.
The refurbishment project was a extensive overhaul, covering 89 ensuite rooms, 10 studios, and 19 communal kitchens across two blocks. This ambitious endevour aimed to modernize the facilities, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency. Interiors were redecorated and high-quality Amtico LVT flooring was installed throughout.
The lighting system received a major upgrade with enhanced fixtures, offering better illumination and energy efficiency for a more inviting atmosphere. New blinds, faceplates, and energy-efficient wall heaters were installed, along with new pinboards and mirrors to increase the utility of living and study spaces. Bathrooms were also upgraded with new shower heads, toilet seats, and mastic work.
In addition to the bedroom upgrades, a former kitchen was converted into a state-of-the-art laundry room, equipped with new electrical systems and ventilation. Overall, the project has revitalized Abacus House, offering modern, comfortable, and functional living spaces for students.
