As a cornerstone of Gloucester City Council’s regeneration efforts, Kings Walk mall was identified for critical revitalisation. The project aimed to enhance the mall’s allure and functionality, securing its status as a vibrant centre for both shoppers and retailers.
Harris Evolution was appointed to undertake comprehensive cosmetic upgrades and full-scale decorations, with each phase thoughtfully orchestrated and executed with precision. The atrium, once embellished with sails and steelworks echoing the historic docks’ majestic tall ships, was revitalised with the installation of Polynode ceilings, elevating the East Gate mall’s atmosphere. Kings Walk atrium witnessed the introduction of innovative slatted ceilings, specialist lighting, and a decorative bronze finish.
The Terrazzo flooring was meticulously repaired and polished, bringing back its original lustre. Mall entrances received a contemporary makeover with sleek cladding and striking illuminated signage, further enhanced by decorative banding above each retail unit. Completing the renovation, windows and the steel structure were thoroughly cleaned.
A key priority was ensuring the renovation did not interrupt business operations. This project stood out for its smooth coordination and minimal environmental impact, including the careful relocation of wildlife in consultation with environmental experts. This approach ensured retail units could stay open without impacting daily activities.
