Albion Chambers, Bristol
Albion Chambers is a Grade II Listed building located in Bristol City Centre. Formally used as two office blocks, the site was showing early signs of dilapidation and needed some repairs. An initial site survey revealed the building would benefit from minor structural alterations and upgrades to the existing facilities.
After consulting with the client to establish the requirements and desired outcomes of this project, Harris Evolution helped shape the specifications of works. Throughout the phases of this challenging programme, Harris Evolution performed the role of Principal Contractor whilst the clients design team provided interior proposals and drawings.
The two buildings consisted of three floors, each with its own kitchenette facilities, meeting rooms and bathrooms. A total of 42 rooms were refurbished over a 12-week period, which included a full M&E package comprising of new lighting, data installs, power sockets, upgraded fire alarm systems, new heaters, and a new door entry system.
A soft strip out was completed on each floor so that new kitchenette and bathroom facilities could be installed. The interiors benefited from full decorations, various carpentry works and minor structural alterations which created additional meeting rooms. Minor repair works were also completed to the roof of the buildings.
